Introduction

pa2fs is an effort to implement a tool to upload/download files to the Compaq iPaq Personal Audio Player PA-2 memory cards using a standard MMC USB reader.

Support

Requirements

• Linux/UNIX or Microsoft Windows with a working MMC reader (only USB-readers tested). Theoretically it should work on any platforn that wxWindows supports and support for reading/writing raw disk via normal file functions (fread/fwrite).

• Windows 2000 or newer (may work on NT 4 if you can get a cardreader to work, have no idea if it works on Windows 9X).
• User that have rights to read the raw data on the card (normaly only members of group Administrators).

• Blockdevice access to the cardreader, in Linux normaly means group disk.

• Upload file to card (drag'n drop).
• Download file from card.
• Delete file from card.
• Move files on card (change default playorder, drag'n drop)

• Verify card, filesystem check and repair.

• Fixed better handling of cards with different size than 64MB

Known Issues:

• Backup/Restore will return error if card and image sizes mismatch
• Create empty file image will only create 64MB images
